I am a first year PhD student, co-advised by Lakshmi and Jinyang. Broadly, I am interested in systems and networking, with an emphasis on technologies for developing regions. At NYU, I am a part of the CATER and NeWS research groups, learning how to build good systems.
At NYU, I have worked on ROMA, a distributed, practical and high-performance dual-radio mesh protocol, that solves the joint problems of channel assignment and routing. I am currently working on a new communication strata in the WiRE architecture, that could potentially be used to enable micro-finance and healthcare applications over GSM-based cell phones, while significantly lowering running costs.
In my free time, I strum a few chords on the guitar. I’ve also recently developed a new hobby - photography. Needless to say, both my hobbies need significant amounts of work.
